Services for Mrs. Savannah Cheatham will be held at 11 a.m Friday, February 19, 2010 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Emeal Jones officiating. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Alexandria under the direction of Winnfield Funeral Home.

Mrs. Cheatham age 81, of Alexandria, entered eternal rest Thursday, February 11, 2010 in Alexandria at Rapides Regional Medical Center.

She was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband of 34 years, Daniel Cheatham of Alexandria; one daughter, Hannah Webber of Alexandria; three grandchildren, Quarnetta Webber of Alexandria, Kenneth Webber of El Paso, Texas, Ashley Holmes of Alexandria; five great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Gussie Harbor and Marie Cheatham and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Webber, DeUndre Webber, Wilford Hayward, Kendrick Wright, Regional Price, Darius Price.

Visitation will be Friday, February 19th from 9 a.m. until time of service at the church.

Effie Bardwell McCann of Effie, Died Feb. 16

Services: Funeral services for Effie Bardwell McCann will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 19, 2010 in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria with Brother Dobie Perkins officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Ball.

Visitation: Visitation will be at Hixson Brothers, Alexandria Thursday, February 18, 2010 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.

Mrs. McCann, 91, of Effie, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at Marigold House.

Mrs. McCann was a member of Vick Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kearney McCann; parents, Joseph and Emsley Courtney Bardwell and granddaughter, Lauren McCann.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Donald W. McCann and wife, Elizabeth of Houston, Texas; daughter, JoAnn Cooley and husband, Kenneth of Pineville; grandchildren, Stephanie Kurtz, Michaele Williams both of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Kenneth D. Cooley, Jr. of Pineville and JoAnna Seaman of Lake Charles.

Pallbearers will include Jerry Kurtz, Rodney Stamm, Tim Williams, Henry Leckie, Jason Seaman and Tommy Dunn.

Services: Services for Mr. Purvis Bryant will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, February 20, 2010 at Full Gospel Church of Centerpoint with Rev. Burton Ray Dodge officiating. Burial will be held at Tyler Cemetery in Centerpoint.

Visitation: Visitation will be held Saturday, February 20, 2010 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Full Gospel Church of Centerpoint

Mr. Bryant age 76 of Centerpoint passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria.
Survivors include one son Thomas Bryant of Dry Prong, one sister, Marie Dodge of Centerpoint, and one grand-daughter, Heather Bryant of Dry Prong.

Services: Services for Mrs. Thelma S. Dauzat of Marksville will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Feb. 19, 2010 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Hessmer. Burial will be in the St. Alphonsus Mausoleum.

Visitation: Visitation will be at the Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm Thursday, February 18, 2010, and from 8:00 am until shortly before funeral time on Friday. A Christian Wake Service will be held at 6:30 pm Thursday evening.

Mrs. Dauzat, age 69 of Marksville passed away Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010 in Marksville. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald A. Dauzat Sr. & 1 Grandson, Shaun Reason.
She is survived by 1 son, Donald ‘Buddy’ Dauzat Jr. & companion Katie Cooper, 4 daughters, Connie & husband Mike Reed, Donna & husband Billy Reason, Sonia & husband Greg Juneau, Trish Dauzat all of Hessmer, 4 sisters, Theresa Shores of Illinois, Linda Bruce of Ball, La., Ruth Dauzat & Kathy Aymond both of Marksville, 2 Step-Sisters, 3 brothers, Steve A. Sayer of Brouillette, Lester & Frank Sayer of Marksville, 2 Step-Brothers, 9 Grandchildren & 6 Great Grandchildren.

Mack Albert McQuarn, 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9

Services for Mack Albert McQuarn will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2008 at New Saint Mark Baptist Church, 1516 Reed St Alexandria with the Rev. Jerome Elmore, officiating. Burial will be in McNutt Hill Cemetery, Boyce.

Mr. McQuarn, 62, passed away on Sunday August 3, 2008 in Tioga Manor Nursing Home.

He was born on September 26, 1945 in Boyce.

Preceded in death by his parents Israel and Ethel Williams McQuarn and two brothers Henry Stewart and James Hunter.

Survivors include his three daughters Greta and Mary McQuarn and Latoya Gaines; two sons Mack A. McQuarn, Jr and Keshar Sanders; one sister, Lois Marie Jones; thirteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Friends may call on Saturday from 8:30am until service time at the church.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Gonzaque-Williams Mortuary “Where Healing Begins”.

Services for Craig Allen will be Friday, August 1, 2008 at 10 a.m. at Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Hamilton officiating. Burial will be at Oak Island Cemetery under the direction of Progressive Funeral Home.

Mr. Allen, age 37, died on Friday, July 26, 2008 at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital.

His daughter, Okemah Allen and maternal grandparents, Leroy and Ener Mae Burton Cannon, Sr. preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memories his father, Jonathan (Diane) of San Antonio, Texas; his mother, Gloria Marie Cannon Allen of Alexandria; paternal grandparents, Clarence and Elaine Allen of Alexandria; four sisters, Kayla Marie and Ener Shonte Cannon both of Alexandria, Alexandra and Mariah Allen both of San Antonio, Texas and a host of relatives and friends.
